Theatre B.F.A.


Note: No new students will be admitted to B.S., Theatre, program beginning Fall 2019.

Theatre Program Requirements


  • Audition (Acting) or Interview (Design/Technology) with Theatre faculty required for admission into the B.F.A. Theatre degree.
  • Through required semester enrollment in the Theatre Production course (THRE PROD ), all theatre majors will perform satisfactorily in at least one role or technical crew position (including design, management and production running crews) for one show per semester. Academic eligibility factors into casting and production assignments; therefore, theatre majors must maintain a semester GPA of 2.50 or higher, keep regular attendance in all classes, and make a “C” or better in all courses required by the major.
  • All acting concentration majors will audition for all WTAMU Theatre productions unless excused from audition by the program coordinator.
  • All theatre majors will participate in a required jury evaluation as follows:
    • New theatre majors will jury at the end of their first semester in the program.
    • All theatre majors will jury at the end of each spring semester.

This program requires no specific courses from the University Core Curriculum.

And One of Two Concentrations


Total hours required to complete degree: 120 hours


Depending on transfer credits and other substitutions/waivers, student may need to take additional electives as needed to total a minimum of 120 hours or the minimum total hours required for this degree, of which at least 36 must be advanced (3000/4000 level) and earned at WTAMU.
