The Department of Speech and Hearing Sciences offers an undergraduate bachelor of science (B.S.) degree in speech, language, and hearing sciences to prepare students for professional study at the graduate level in audiology or speech-language pathology. Many students also choose to pursue licensure as therapy assistants or professions in related fields. The department also offers leveling options for individuals who have an undergraduate degree in an alternative discipline and who desire to obtain a graduate degree for professional practice. Additionally, the Department of Speech and Hearing Sciences offers a master of science (M.S.) graduate degree in speech-language pathology. The master’s program is accredited by the Council on Academic Accreditation of the American Speech Language Hearing Association (ASHA). All of the faculty members hold the Certificate of Clinical Competence from ASHA and are licensed by the Texas Board of Examiners in speech-language pathology and/or audiology.
