Music majors cannot receive core credit for MUSI 1306 . MUSI 1208  and MUSI 1209  satisfies “Visual and Performing Arts” in the core curriculum.

Four semester hours from:

MUAP 10XX (two credit hours for each of four semesters)

Other Requirements

  • A minimum of eight semesters of major ensemble.
  • Recital, concert, weekly seminar and departmental meeting attendance.
  • Satisfactory senior recital performance before graduation.
  • Students majoring in music (all-level certification) are encouraged to attend at least one summer school session to allow greater freedom during regular semesters to participate in unrequired but valuable courses, such as small ensembles.
  • Requirements for piano must be completed before the semester of student teaching.

Eight semester hours structured electives in music

being sure to complete the 39 hours of required 3000- to 4000-level course work, of which one course must be taken from:

MUAP 10XX (two credit hours for each of four semesters)

Six semester hours of major ensemble credit

Two semester hours of:

MUSI 1180 or MUAP 1069  (one credit hour each semester). Two semesters of piano with a grade of “C” or higher are required for graduation.
