Major in Criminal Justice
(Major Code: 835) Criminal justice is for people interested in public service, social justice, and law. The major balances theoretical understanding with practical application to prepare graduates for both entry-level positions and career advancement. Students gain skills in administration, management, written and verbal communications, critical thinking, problem solving, ethical judgment and decision making, and interpersonal skills. Such skills are essential to working in criminal justice but are also transferable to other career fields. University Core Curriculum Requirements (42 hours)

Criminal Justice Advanced Electives (6 hours)
Six hours from any 3000-4000 level CRIJ courses, excluding CRIJ 4098 . Advanced Electives (12 hours)
Twelve hours from any 3000-4000 level CRIJ, EMA, or POSC courses, excluding CRIJ 4098 or POSC 4098 . Electives
Take additional electives as needed to total 36 hours of advanced work (3000- or 4000-level) from WTAMU and to total a minimum of 120 hours overall, or the minimum total hours required for your degree. Total hours required to complete degree: 120 hours
