(Specialization Code: PNP)

WTAMU offers a Nurse Practitioner program for students interested in pursuing a career as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) or Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner PMHNP. A Nurse Practitioner is a registered nurse (RN), with advanced education, who is able to assess, diagnose, manage, and evaluate care for individuals. The Nurse Practitioner programs are specialization areas for nurses pursuing advanced practice registered nursing (APRN). The FNP specialization is available in a hybrid format with clinical experiences in Texas, New Mexico, and Oklahoma.

The WTAMU admissions requirements and advising recommendations for the Bachelor of Science in Nursing program (BSN) and the Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) can be found on the Department of Nursing’s website (https://www.wtamu.edu/academics/college-nursing-health-sciences/department-nursing/index.html) or on the Pre-Professional Specializations website (https://www.wtamu.edu/academics/advising/pre-professional-specializations/index.html).
