Major in Economics
(Major Code: 319)University Core Curriculum Requirements
Refer to the “University Core Curriculum ” section of this catalog. Students must take the following courses. From Communication - Code 10 (6 hours)
From Mathematics - Code 20 (3 hours)
From Social and Behavioral Sciences - Code 80 (3 hours)
From Component Area Option - Code 90 (3 of 6 hours)
Refer to the University Core Curriculum for all options. Students are encouraged to take one of the following courses: Note:
A grade of “C” or better is required in all B.B.A. degree core courses and University Core Curriculum sections 10, 20, 80, and three of six hours in section 90. Economics Major Requirements
18 semester hours of advanced economics electives
15 semester hours of additional course work with prior approval of adviser
These courses should be in harmony with the student’s area of interest. B.S. Degree
- in addition to the core curriculum a minimum of 6 hours as follows: - Six hours chosen from biology, chemistry, geology, geosciences, mathematics, physics and natural sciences.
B.A. Degree
- in addition to the core curriculum, a minimum of 12 hours as follows: - Six semester hours of foreign language.
- Six semester hours chosen from art, English, history, modern languages, music, philosophy and theatre.
