Electives


Take additional hours of electives as needed to total 120 overall.

Note:


Public Relations, Advertising, and Applied Communication majors may not count more than 48 hours of MCOM courses toward the degree. Electives should be in other subjects.

Graduation Requirements


All students in a mass media program will compile an e-portfolio that demonstrates the student’s competencies in at least six of the following eight categories:

  • Leadership
  • Mass Media Production
  • Media Convergence
  • Written Communication
  • Cultural Influences
  • Theoretical Perspectives
  • Professional and Civic Responsibilities
  • Media Management

The e-portfolio must be submitted for review early in the semester the student plans to graduate. The student must receive a score of 3 or higher on each section of the portfolio to be certified for graduation.
