Certificate Requirements:

The 12-hour certificate program in professional and technical communication is designed for a variety of students from diverse backgrounds and majors, including onsite and online students and working professionals. Potential employers and/or graduate and technical programs value communication and writing skills in candidates. Therefore, a certificate in professional and technical communication provides essential and marketable writing and communication skills for a variety of professional communication situations.

Required course (3 hours):

ENGL 2311 - Introduction to Professional and Technical Communication 3

Choose three of the following (9 hours):

ENGL 3305 - Technical Style and Editing 3
ENGL 3307 - Information and Document Design 3
ENGL 4301 - Advanced Composition 3
ENGL 4304 - Writing for Digital Media 3
ENGL 4305 - Advanced Topics in Technical Communication 3 (can be repeated 1 time if course topic varies)
