Major in English
(Major Code: 106)
The bachelor of arts degree in English requires a minimum of 120 hours which includes courses for the major, general education, language courses, all University requirements and electives. The English major consists of 42 hours as well as language requirements and a capstone project. At least 30 of the 42 hours must be upperdivision courses. Maximum of 60 hours may be taken in English. From Communication - Code 10 (3 of 6 hours)

Take a second course from:
15 hours of English electives at the 3000 level or above

Two courses with a minimum of three hours per course. While not required, students are urged to take both courses in the same language. Electives
Take additional non-ENGL electives to total 120 hours overall.
*English Capstone Project
The Capstone will be completed during the student’s senior year. In addition to the successful completion of English 4390, requirements include a portfolio and presentation to be evaluated by the capstone assessment committee. Refer to the English Major’s Handbook for additional information.
