The Department of Psychology, Sociology and Social Work has graduate work in all three areas available. The Psychology program offers a Specialist in School Psychology (S.S.P.) degree that is fully accredited by the National Association of School Psychologists (NASP), leading to licensure as a school psychologist. The Psychology Program also offers a master’s (M.A.) degree leading to mental health positions and enhanced competitiveness to enter doctoral programs in psychology. Many graduates have entered highly competitive doctoral programs in a variety of psychology specializations, including: clinical, counseling, I/O, biopsychology, experimental, social, comparative, statistics, etc.

The Social Work Program offers the Master of Science in Social Work (M.S.S.W.) degree, preparing students for advanced generalist professional practice in clinical and community settings. The program is accredited by the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE), ensuring that graduates meet the highest standards of professional competency. Graduate study in social work emphasizes evidence-based practice, policy analysis, research, and leadership in service delivery systems. The program prepares students for licensure as Licensed Master Social Workers (LMSW) and, following post-graduate supervised experience, eligibility for Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) licensure. Graduates are equipped to work in a variety of settings, including mental health agencies, schools, hospitals, child welfare, aging services, corrections, nonprofit organizations, and other human service fields.
