The Sybil B. Harrington College of Fine Arts and Humanities is composed of four departments and one school: Department of Art, Theatre and Dance; Department of Communication; Department of English, Philosophy and Modern Languages; Department of History; and School of Music; each of which offers courses of study leading to graduate degrees. The objective of these graduate programs is to provide the finest possible advanced training for professional careers in fine arts and humanities, as well as to assist college and public school instructors to gain additional knowledge and techniques in support of their teaching fields.

The college fosters thought, artistry, and culture as integral to the human experience. In the arts and humanities, we empower students through dynamic and transformative learning. The college enhances the quality of life in communities and cultivates belonging and forward-thinking citizens, educators, scholars, and artists.
