MATH 3313 - Elementary Number Theory 3 3 0 Prerequisite(s): MATH 2413 or consent of instructor. This course discusses elementary number theory, specifically the enumeration and the optimization problems related to the theoretical perspectives surrounding number ideas. Algorithmic (constructive) aspects will be emphasized. Topics include: basic integer division, linear Diophantine equations, linear congruence equations, non-linear Diophantine equations, modular ring structure and its group of units, and an introduction to Cryptography.
