EDPD 3340 - Educational Foundations

Prerequisite: 54 hours, minimum 2.75 GPA. Course for prospective teachers introducing the principles of teaching and fulfilling professional roles and responsibilities. Topics include student diversity, classroom environment, effective communication, school improvement, parental involvement and legal/ethical issues in education. Course is aligned with Texas educator standards and helps to prepare students for the TExES PPR. Field experiences integrated with a professional learning community component are required. Fall, spring, summer.
