Minimum degree requirements for degree are 120 semester credit hours.

- 6 hours of sociology electives*
- 12 hours of advanced sociology courses
* Designated hours from the Texas Transfer Framework will be applied towards the Sociology Electives:
- SOCI 2301 Marriage and the Family (SOCI 2301 TR)
- SOCI 2319 Minority Studies (SOCI 2319 TR)

Sociology majors are urged to consult closely with departmental advisers regarding electives in the department.
