Double Major in Economics and Finance

University Core Curriculum Requirements

Refer to the “University Core Curriculum ” section of this catalog. Students must take the following courses.

From Communication - Code 10 (6 hours)

From Mathematics - Code 20 (3 hours)

MATH 1324 - Mathematics for Business and Economics I 3 (or equivalent)

From Social and Behavioral Sciences - Code 80 (3 hours)

ECON 2301 - Principles of Macroeconomics 3

From Component Area Option - Code 90 (3 of 6 hours)

Refer to the University Core Curriculum for all options. Students are encouraged to take one of the following courses:

A grade of “C” or better is required in all B.B.A. degree core courses and University Core Curriculum sections 10, 20, 80, and three of six hours in section 90.

B.B.A. Degree Requirements

Refer to the “Bachelor of Business Administration (B.B.A.) Degree Core Requirements ” section of this catalog.

Note: Students must take a FIN course for the College of Business writing component.

Economics Core Requirements

Nine semester hours of advanced economics electives

Finance Core Requirements

12 semester hours:

Six semester hours of advanced finance electives

Additional Requirements

Additional electives to total 120 hours

Total of 24 economics hours and 24 finance hours
