Full Admission Requirements


Admission to the Engler College of Business Graduate Business Programs is highly selective. Meeting minimum admission requirements does not guarantee admission to the degree program.

  1. Undergraduate grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 or higher
  2. While all applicants are welcome to take the GMAT exam, those with an undergraduate GPA of 3.0 or higher may request to have this requirement waived by completing a GMAT Score Waiver Request Form and emailing it to gradbusprograms@wtamu.edu. Alternately, you may submit an Electronic GMAT Score Waiver Request Form.
  3. Official transcripts from all post-secondary institutions
  4. Three letters of recommendation (at least one letter must be a professional recommendation). The College of Business Recommendation Letter Form available for downloading.*
  5. Resume showing career progress*
  6. Statement of goals for pursuing a graduate business degree*
  7. Proficiency in foundation computing and statistics courses

Consideration may be provided for excellence in previous program, GMAT performance, career progression in industry and/or military service.

Degree Requirements


Students seeking a Master of Science in Computer Information Systems and Business Analytics degree must first establish proficiency in Computer information Systems. This proficiency may be established by courses taken in an undergraduate program, by completing advanced standing examinations in these areas, documented applied professional experience, or by taking foundation courses identified by the faculty adviser.

Additional Requirements:


  • Three semester hours of graduate elective courses in computer information systems and decision management (CIDM), accounting (ACCT), economics (ECON), or finance (FIN) as approved by academic adviser (excluding leveling courses CIDM 6330 , CIDM 6363 , CIDM 6388 , or CIDM 6388 ).
  • Upon M.S. program coursework completion, degree candidates are required to pass a comprehensive exam or complete an approved capstone course with a capstone project, as part of the program curriculum. The comprehensive exam is offered online in December (fall exam offering) and May (spring exam offering). CIDM 6330, CIDM 6363, and CIDM 6388 are courses with potential for a capstone project if approved in advance by advisor and course instructor.
