Music Industry Programs
(Major Code: 220)
Music Industry Program Options:
I. Music with Elecctive Studies in Business (Music B.M.)
Students completing this option will take courses offered in the Paul and Virginia Engler College of Business in preparation for careers in Arts Management and Administration.
II. Music - Concentration in Music Technology (Music B.M.)
Students in Music Technology will study aspects of music production with specialization in audio recording technology and engineering.
Requirements for All Music Majors
Refer to the “School of Music ” section of this catalog.
From Creative Arts - Code 50 (3 hours)
Note: Music majors cannot receive core credit for MUSI 1306 or MUSI 1310 .
From Social and Behavioral Sciences - Code 80 (3 hours) - Option I Only
Music Electives
Choose eight semester hours, of which one course must be taken from MUSI 3347 or MUSI 3349 .
Two semester hours selected from:
MUAP 10XX (two credit hours for each of four semesters)
MUAP 30XX (two credit hours for one semester, one credit hour for one semester) except MUAP 3081 (two credit hours for each of two semesters)
MUAP 4194 (one credit hour) or MUAP 4094 (Voice emphasis only)
Six semester hours of ensemble credit
