Theatre Program Requirements
- Through the Theatre Production course (THRE PROD ), each theatre education major will perform satisfactorily in at least one role or technical crew position (including design, management and production running crews) for one show per semester, with the exception of the final student teaching semester. Academic eligibility factors into casting and production assignments; therefore, theatre education majors should maintain a semester GPA of 2.75 or higher, keep regular attendance in all classes, and make a “C” or better in all courses required by the major.
- All theatre education majors will audition for all WTAMU Theatre productions unless excused from audition by the director of the production.
- All theatre education majors will attend the required jury evaluation at the end of the semester.
- New theatre education majors will have a jury at the end of their first semester in the program.
- All theatre education majors will have a jury at the end of each spring semester.
NOTE: To prepare for the diverse responsibilities of teaching and directing, Theatre Education majors are encouraged to work with their advisor and the Technical Director to receive a variety of production assignments including possible opportunities in stage management, running crew, and front of house.
