International Studies-East Asia Minor Requirements:


  • 18 hours, nine of which must be at the advanced level, three in residence.
  • Demonstrated competency in Japanese or another relevant Asian language, subject to approval by the International Studies Governing Committee.
  • 12 hours of area-related course work, six from any field, three of which may come from the “general” list.
  • Students are strongly encouraged to study abroad.
