University Core Curriculum Requirements

Required Courses


Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Science Requirements (6-12 hours)


Refer to the “Requirements for Baccalaureate Degrees ” section of this catalog.

Electives


Take additional hours of electives as needed to total 120 overall.

Graduation Requirements


All students in a mass communication program will compile an e-portfolio that demonstrates the student’s competencies in at least six of the following eight categories:

  • Leadership
  • Mass Media Production
  • Media Convergence
  • Written Communication
  • Cultural Influences
  • Theoretical Perspectives
  • Professional and Civic Responsibilities
  • Media Management

The e-portfolio must be submitted for review early in the semester the student plans to graduate. The student must receive a score of 3 or higher on each section of the portfolio to be certified for graduation.
