History Requirements (39 hours)


The prerequisite for advanced work (3000- and 4000-level courses) is six semester hours of history unless otherwise indicated. A 2.75 combined GPA is required.

Advanced History Electives (21 hours)


  • Nine hours of advanced U.S. history electives
  • Nine hours of advanced non-U.S. history electives
  • Three hours of any advanced history electives

In addition to the University core, take:

  • Six hours of foreign language.

B.S. Degree


In addition to the University core, take:

  • Six hours chosen from biology, chemistry, geology, geosciences, mathematics, physics and natural sciences.
