Major in Theatre
(Major Code: 209)Theatre Program Requirements
- Every theatre major will perform satisfactorily in at least one role or technical crew position (including design, management and production running crews) for one show per semester. Academic eligibility factors into casting and production assignments; therefore, theatre majors should maintain an overall GPA of 2.75 or higher, keep regular attendance in all classes, and make a “C” or better in all courses required by the major.
- All theatre performance majors will audition for all WTAMU Theatre productions unless excused from audition by the director of the production.
- All theatre majors will attend the required jury evaluation at the end of the semester.
- New theatre majors will have a jury at the end of their first semester in the program.
- All theatre majors will have a jury at the end of each spring semester.
- Theatre majors are required to enroll in six semesters of Theatre Practicum (THRE 1120, THRE 3199).
- Theatre majors are required to enroll in four semesters of Theatre Profession (THRE PROF).
