MATH 1332 - Mathematics for Liberal Arts

Prerequisite: MATH 0303  or score of 85 or higher on Accuplacer Elementary Level Algebra. Practical applications of mathematics with a goal of mathematical literacy. Emphasis on problem-solving and critical-thinking skills with topics that include mathematics of finance, compound interest, annuities and amortizations; counting principles with application to probability; statistical reasoning, modeling using linear, quadratic and exponential regression; advanced applications of geometry and algebraic models; voting methods. Course fee $10.
