Prerequisite(s): Senior standing. This senior capstone experience includes the senior portfolio required for graduation. Each student will make arrangements with a business, nonprofit or governmental organization for an opportunity to learn through hands-on experience across a semester (150 hours). The internship allows students to take what they have learned about theory and practice in their major courses and apply that knowledge to a role within their chosen communication career path. The internship should be supervised by an expert in the field. The course includes professional development assignments and projects to help expand students’ professional knowledge, skills and abilities, as well as to allow them to reflect upon these experiences and their career goals. Cannot be repeated.
