The Sybil B. Harrington College of Fine Arts and Humanities is composed of five departments—Department of Art, Theatre and Dance; Department of Communication; Department of English, Philosophy and Modern Languages; Department of History; and Department of Music—each of which offers courses of study leading to graduate degrees. The objective of these graduate programs is to provide the finest possible advanced training for professional careers in fine arts and humanities, as well as to assist college and public school instructors to gain additional knowledge and techniques in support of their teaching fields. Ultimately, the Sybil B. Harrington College of Fine Arts and Humanities exists to foster and preserve the art of human expression.
