The Sybil B. Harrington College of Fine Arts and Humanities is composed of four departments and one school: Department of Art, Theatre and Dance; Department of Communication; Department of English, Philosophy and Modern Languages; Department of History; and School of Music; each of which offers courses of study leading to graduate degrees. The objective of these graduate programs is to provide the finest possible advanced training for professional careers in fine arts and humanities, as well as to assist college and public school instructors to gain additional knowledge and techniques in support of their teaching fields.
The Sybil B. Harrington College of Fine Arts and Humanities fosters and preserves the art and skill of human thought and expression. Through teaching, research, creative activity, performance, and professional service, we advocate for the importance and the relevance of the fine arts and humanities. The College is dedicated to the development of tomorrow’s leaders through technology-rich, academically rigorous educational programs and empowering co-curricular experiences at the undergraduate and graduate level. The College enhances the quality of life of the region and advances excellence through high impact experiences that engage students with the community.
